The urbanistic concept of the shopping park premises is based on the plot size and altimetry as well as its strategic position between Rudná and Místecká streets as two major transport routes crossing Ostrava from the East to the West and from the North to the South. The shopping park is situated in the western part of the plot perpendicularly to Rudná street with the longer façade oriented towards Vítkovice and the rear façade adjoining the exit road. The car park zones are located in eastern part of the premises. The Ostrava-Jih Shopping Park project was developed by Místecká Shopping Centre, a.s. under a joint venture with Carrefour Česká republika in 2001 including Carrefour hypermarket and shopping mall. Due to the change in its global strategy Carrefour later ceased its operations in the Czech Republic and withdrew from the project which was then transformed to the construction of a DIY type hypermarket.
