The Orchard Complex

“THE ORCHARD”, a complex of three office buildings and a hotel, is situated on the plots between Hornopolní Street and Místecká Street (under construction). The plots deteriorated by industrial plants in past now Orfee advanced amenities. The central idea in designing the volume koncept of the development was to highlight greenery and garden as an important element in urban environment. The access areas of the office buildings are connected by a vest pocket park including lawn and planting, pond and roofed front yard. The courtyards i.e. parking and service areas, are at a level below the ground floor and are partly sunk under the access platform. The three office buildings have seven storeys each and are arranged in an offset “H” shape in plan view. They offer 36,000 m² of floor area. Their bearing structure is formed by 5.5 x 6 m prefabricated reinforced concrete frame with stiffening monolithic cores. They are provided with suspended lightweight shell. The different buildings are identified by a combination of grey aluminium panels and enamelled glass panels in green, white and brown colours. The access front of each building is lined with grisaille glass with tree motif up to the fifth floor.
